Edgenuity, a leading provider of online curriculum and instructional services for the K-12 market, is meeting the growing interest and demand for foreign language instruction by implementing live lessons for its virtual World Language courses.
Beginning this summer, the new “World Language Live Lesson” add-on will allow students to access virtual Extended Learning Teachers –provided by Edgenuity– that teach live, weekly lessons alongside Edgenuity’s existing award-winning courses and virtual instruction. The Extended Learning Teachers provide an engaging learning experience in which students can interact with teachers and fellow students, practice speaking the language and receive real-time feedback from expert professionals.
“Edgenuity prides itself on providing opportunity and access for students. With our new Live Lessons we are now able to provide our students an even richer learning experience through discourse with highly qualified World Language teachers,” said Sari Factor, CEO of Edgenuity. “Learning a foreign language is difficult, and our goal is to provide our students with every opportunity to succeed. This addition will enhance the way our students approach learning new languages, leading to better outcomes in the classroom and a deeper understanding of the languages and cultures that exist outside of it.”
The Extended Learning Teachers draw from multiple aspects of a particular region to craft lessons the both increase language knowledge and expand cultural understanding. These lessons are designed to align with current events, relevant national celebrations and the students’ broader curriculum. The World Language Live Lessons themselves are also customized to align with current events, relevant cultural activities and students’ broader curriculum.
