Edgenuity, a leading provider of online curriculum and instructional services for the K-12 market, announced today that Edgenuity UpSmart™ has won a CODiE award for ‘Best Cross-Curricular Solution.’ The annual CODiE Awards are given by the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) for excellence in software development.
The ‘Best-Cross Curricular Solution’ category recognizes the best software tool for students, educators or administrators that can be used in multiple curriculum areas in the pre-K-12 or higher education market.
UpSmart is a supplemental learning solution designed to help students in grades 6-8 demonstrate mastery of state standards in English language arts and math. UpSmart combines assessment, instruction and practice to give every student the support they need when they need it – responding to a student’s interactions in real time and automatically providing individualized support. For each topic, students begin with a short assessment followed by tasks that assess mastery, accumulate data and trigger appropriate academic scaffolds, instruction and practice.
“UpSmart is making a difference for students by helping them practice and master skills and concepts while providing teachers with the individualized real-time performance data they need to coach and guide students,” said Sari Factor, CEO of Edgenuity. “We are delighted that UpSmart was recognized with this CODiE award and look forward to the impact we can make for more students.”
UpSmart was also recently named a winner in ComputED’s 24th Annual Best Educational Software Awards, as well as a 2018 finalist for EdTech Digest’s Cool Tool Award.
UpSmart can be customized to align to each classroom’s specific needs, enabling teachers to assign topics in conjunction with their lessons, reorder and prioritize topics, or allow students to work in the order they prefer. The program can be used as a companion to core curriculum or as a platform to support test readiness, study skills and more.
